ANCELOTTI: SIPENDEZWI NA UHUSIANO WA MORINHOU KWA RONALDO
The Real Madrid boss insists that he does not know, or care, whether the former Blancos manager and the Portugal international have an off-field friendship or not
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti says he is not interested in Jose Mourinho's relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese manager, who previously bossed Madrid but is now in charge at Premier League giants Chelsea, revealed on Thursday that he and Ronaldo do not keep in touch following the 51-year-old's departure from the Spanish capital in the summer of 2013.
But Ancelotti says the matter is not one that concerns him.
"Mourinho is a great coach who can coach anywhere," the 55-year-old said.
"I don't know what his relationship with Cristiano is like, nor am I interested. It is a personal relationship and has nothing to do with Real Madrid.
"I don't know if Mourinho wants to [ever] come back [to Madrid]," he added.
The Italian trainer also discussed criticism of his team following their poor start to La Liga this term - having taken only three points from their first three games.
"I don't understand the lack of confidence in this team, four months ago we won the European Cup and we may win it again," he continued. "Madrid will fight for all competitions until the end.
"We are not thinking about the distance we are behind Barcelona or Atletico Madrid, we need to improve our tactical and physical levels.
"Due to the World Cup we had an odd pre-season, some players arrived back late. That's a problem for all teams.
"We have to improve and show consistency. We've lacked that but I think we'll improve."
